Patricia's Pine Copper Necklace.

There's an old cedar tree at the edge of my property that's been there longer than I have. Same every spring. No drama, no announcements. Just quiet, steady presence year after year.

That's what I had in mind when I built this chain.

Every X-link was pressed and fitted by hand, one at a time, until the whole length found its weight and drape. You can't rush that kind of work without it showing later. I was never willing to let it show.

Copper worn close to the chest has a way of settling something in the body that's hard to name and easy to feel. The women who've worn mine at the throat longest reach for it first thing in the morning without thinking. Something feels unfinished when it isn't there. I've watched that enough times to stop questioning it.

This chain is grounded and purposeful. Not decorative. Just real — the way the best things tend to be.

One of the last necklaces to leave my Coalgate workshop.
